Content Management

Challenge:

Mazda had two groups that had two different, yet related, needs that requiring management. Their dealers group needed up to date images and marketing materials, while the media audience need up to date information on not only the cars, but the company itself. Previously, Mazda had to issue new CDs with the pertinent information to dealers and media whenever there was a change or news. In the automotive world, with updates sometimes as frequent as weekly, the process was tedious and costly.

Solution:

Total Graphics developed an intelligent online system that managed not only the assets and information, but also communications with the various media and dealers. The database housed assets for the dealers to access through a secure login as needed. The assets were maintained by corporate so that the latest assets were always available and when there were updates, they only had to update this central system and not worry about delivering to each individual dealer. The database also contained information for journalists - the journalists would receive an email notification whenever new information was uploaded based on their choices of over a dozen opt-in categories (corporate, car model/type, etc).

Results:

The program delivered immediate success in a multitude of areas. Confusion over what CD/information was the latest was eliminated and the information was provided to the appropriate contact automatically and immediately, ensuring receipt. In addition, the cost of CDs and time with physical mailings were eliminated, while Mazda enjoyed better management of graphic and content standards overall, resulting in consistency and better support for the brand Identity.
